Direct Subsidized & Unsubsidized Student Loans
Direct Student Loans are loans available to undergraduate and graduate students with the US Department of Education acting as the lender. There are two types of Direct Student Loans - Subsidized and Unsubsidized.
Direct Subsidized Student Loans
Direct Subsidized Loans are need-based loans available to undergraduate students. The US Department of Education pays the interest while you are in school at least half time, for the first six months after you leave school (also known as grace period), and during periods of deferment. Payments are automatically deferred while you are in school at least half time. Undergraduate borrowers may receive the interest subsidy for up to 150% of the published length of their program (6 years for most students at DeHart Technical School; varies by program and student type).
